Assessment

The assessment involves a discussion with you about your horse and any problems you feel they face each day. Lucy will observe a variety of things including your horse moving; this may be in hand, on the lunge or ridden. Muscle symmetry, palpation of muscles to locate tension and discomfort, and range of movement of the spine and limbs.

Treatment

Through clinical experience a problem list is compiled of which Lucy can then select the appropriate treatments including: soft tissue and joint mobilisation, myofascial release, stretches, exercises, laser, neuromuscular stimulation and TENS. This rehabilitation plan may also include home exercises for you to continue yourself.

As a Chartered physiotherapist Lucy works closely with your vet and any other individuals involved with your horse to ensure the best treatment possible.
